On April 19 2016 at 1106 AM, the Garden City Park FD received an alarm for a Bathroom Fire located at 273 Devonshire Drive. Assistant Chief Thomas was the first unit on the road within seconds. Upon arrival, Assistant Chief Thomas met with smoke showing and requested for a Signal 98 to be transmitted. After further investigation, Assistant Chief Thomas requested for the alarm to be upgraded to a signal 10. Engine 154 responded and stretched 1 line to the residence and quickly knocked down the fire with the assistance from the crews from Engine 152. EMS support was provided by AMT Ian Newman from the Nassau County EAB. New Hyde Park FD responded as the FAS Team. Mineola FD and New Hyde Park FD stood by Station 2 to provided services to the residence if another alarm in district was transmitted. Units took up within the hour. Assistant Chief Thomas was in command.
